Public Speaking Class: Persuasive Speech - Seek GM Labels

The third assignment for public speaking class was to persuade the audience to take an action. I had to survey the class to not only determine what they believe, but why they believe it. I found this to be particularly challenging at first because I didn't want to persuade them to be against Genetic Engineering. (I plan to be a Genetic Engineer myself) At the same time I wanted to persuade them to be for GM labels. I found a way to persuade the audience in an impartial way without arguing against anyone's views and the teacher said it was one of the best persuasive speeches she had ever heard. I could have done better if I put a bit emotion into it, but still got an A.
