dandylion, Will doesn't look heartbroken. Bootstrap said she couldn't join the crew, but he didn't say that she couldn't follow them to World's End. Will knows that he can step foot in the living world(as long as he doesn't come ashore) otherwise how would he know he had a son? He and Elizabeth followed each other because they had to in order for him to be free. Elizabeth would die without Will. Therefore, Bootstrap is wrong when he says Elizabeth can't follow. She can do whatever she likes.

Actually, Will and Elizabeth didn't have to seperate for ten years. They had to be faithful. How could Elizabeth live if she couldn't see her husband for that long? She'd die. So, she's alive ten years later, that means she and Will saw each other. Besides, Will knows he has a son. How could he know that if he wasn't there?
