Sorry, still disagree with your take. To me, it is a very satisfying moment of the piece to the point it rises the hair on my arms with emotion. Ian Anderson as well must be feeling it as if he is getting into position and air strumming his flute as if it is a guitar in anticipation of the entry of the guitar solo there. My only "problem" if I can it that, the solo is not long enough!

wasn't referencing length, wrong mode (a blues/major pentatonic in the middle of #6 kinda south american tango'ey' minor/diminished harmony) also mistakes on certain notes and a ridiculous metal run at the end of it, simply awful. It absolutely does not fit at all. Prog Rock? haha think he sowed up at the wrong gig

Lucia Micarelli is just awesome and the product is the most awesome cover of Kashmir I have ever heard (out of so many). This is possibly the most awesome cover of any grand rock song. When you have Ian Anderson in the mix, the product will be innovative and refreshing. Such an underrated musical genius, as well known as he is,

This piece is a cover of great rock song and is clearly not about making a great long guitar solo as it is already featuring an unbelievable talented violin soloist plus Ian Anderson playing his flute "dueling" with her. So, my take of the objective and function of that guitar solo in that particular point there is to stamp the piece with a signature Jethro Tull guitar sound as well, which is as distinct as the flute of Ian Anderson. And stamp it, it does so beautifully and succinctly.
