Over population is really not the issue, per capita energy waste is.

It is the top 2 billion who consume 2/3 of the planet's energy.

yes, in the Shale miners' face. Ever hear of EROEI?

Shale has the energy density of dog poop or 1/3 that of a box of corn flakes.

Peak Oil naysayers remind me of an episode Twilight Zone Shelter when judgement day arrives.

are you kidding, sadly you are just another misinformed person who got sewered into believing everything the media tells you. The US government is mostly funded (including military) about 80% from BP oil to whom is throwing out nonsense facts to the public to make global warming and peak oil a debate when it shouldn't be because 98% of reputable scientists know it's the truth......The only scientists who don't are those like the Cato Institute which are funded by the big oil companies..

that Venus project is cool and all... but it's completely unrealistic....No country will just 'not' have a government, at least not in the next century or 2 anyways...

"We've got oil for 100 years!"

And then what? Why not build our future now?

Oil pollutes and is unsustainable, regardless.

The New York Times has been screaming about the end of oil since 1920s. These predictions are exaggerated and largely untrue.

There's enough oil in Canada alone for the next 100 years, and new technologies in drilling are finding new oil every year in sites that were previously thought exhausted.

The only shortage is of people with common sense to vote responsibley and stop falling for all this collectivist hype.

Oh please spare me the superficial analysis.

I did better than just look up the 70s.

My parents lived through that and everything to do with the

Arab Oil embargo exacerbating the geological fact we peaked in 1970-71.

Of course control of oil is key because oil field after oil field has entered

irrefutable, irreversible terminal decline in up to 54 countries.

I see no evidence of a conspiracy, implicit collusion yes since the

courts have ruled government is a person.
