Its a problem doing this with a Gi. When I try and do this I usually expose myself to the X-choke. How can I avoid that??

Easy no participating in competitions...
On average it takes 10 year to get to black belt. If students are getting it much faster than that and they are not BJ Penn then you probably have a belt factory

I use this a lot . but lately people have been reaching under with their hand to break my grip on the foot. Any suggestions to counter this problem?

mahalo for posting this pass! question/request: will you please post a vid on when youre using this pass and your opponent starts using the rubber guard and begins rapping the opposite leg around you? I seem to get caught up in that sometimes. Thanks!

Could you maybe post some video of you free rolling or in competitions? Id like to see you use your moves in a live rolling situation
Fantastic instruction from this guy. Whoever you are I want to thank you. I've learned a ton from you and you supplement by school instruction beautifully. Anytime I have a question about something in class I look up your video. Keep up the good work..

I use this pass quite frequently, lately I've been getting caught in a kimura while trying to get side control. Have any of you encountered that situation?
If so how are you getting around it?
If not what am I doing wrong?

I'm assuming you mean on your left arm (when passing in this direction). That being the case, you can tuck your left arm in between his right thigh and calf (toward hi butt). This should postpone the kimura. Be aware of it, and don't blindly continue the pass while walking into the kimura. Hope that helps.
