  • The way I teach is to make it very simple and understand by reasoning and thinking it through. You need to read the problem very carefully.

  • Silly me did it the long way. It completely didnt register to me that the side length is simply the root of the area! This is how I did it, very stupid I know! BC = |2r-3| , CD = |2s-2| BC = CD thus 2r-3 = 2s-2 Thus s = 1/2 (2r-1) We now BC*CD = 64 ie (2r-3)(2s-1) = 64 You end up with 4r^2 - 12r - 55 = 0 Since r>0, quadratic formula and you end up with r = 11/2 (5.5) SILLY ME!!

  • Hmm, the solution seems so simple yet I got it wrong. I think I answered it as 8 because I did not read the "find the value of R" part.
