Blind Spot Warning (BSW) System/Blind Spot Intervention™ (BSI) System:

BSW illuminates an indicator light near the a-pillar if another
vehicle is detected in the blind spot area. If the driver then uses the turn signal, the indicator flashes and an audible warning sounds.
BSI™ is another world-first safety feature from Infiniti and takes blind spot technology to the next level. If the vehicle gets close to the lane marker
and another vehicle is detected in the blind spot area, the indicator flashes, an audible warning sounds, and selective braking is applied to one
side of the vehicle to help the driver bring the vehicle back to the center of the driving lane. BSI™ operates regardless of turn signal usage.
■ Systems use radar to detect the presence of a vehicle in the blind spot area.
■ Note that the System will not prevent contact with other vehicles or accidents due to careless or dangerous driving techniques or detect every
vehicle or object around the vehicle.
■ BSI also uses a camera located in front of the rearview mirror to detect lane markers (same camera used for LDW/LDP).

  • passing the wheel to a machine is very unreliable, u may use it for a UGV

  • more gov shit

  • @Johncarson9113 Thank you! Someone else that finally knows what the hell there talking about!

  • @myhouseiscold Volvo was indeed the first to have the warning system. Infiniti is the first to have a prevention system which corrects for you. When trying to state you know something over others it helps to spell correctly car company names. Not doing so simply lets people know that your really not that knowledgeable about the car industry.

  • VOLVO was the first to have the a blind spot system. Its called the BLIS system. It wasnt mercedes or infinity......

  • Thats fucking stupid, what happens when Im taking a tight turn goin through the mountain switchback??? those opposite side brakes are gonna pull me off the cliff

  • I've got one of these systems on my motorcycle!!! It's called a Freakin' mirror!!!!!

  • I don't think I'd ever want my car deciding how to drive itself. Toyota cars already have a computer system which occasionally goes on the fritz and causes major issues; imagine your new "BSI" car detecting another car in your blind spot and deciding to slam on the brakes. Seems much less safe then simply relying on my own eyes and judgment which, for quite a long time, have been very safe and reliable. I'll pass on this one, Infinity.

  • @Johncarson9113 Infiniti is the only maker that has the Blindspot and Lane Departure Prevention system that will actively push the car back into its lane if it senses the car veering over lane markings without using a turn signal. Blind Spot Intervention uses the brakes on one side of the car, with input from radar sensors and a camera, to keep the M in its original lane of travel if its driver starts to move into a lane that is occupied by another (presumably unseen) vehicle.

  • @chickengrasshead ...LOL your so Niave. If you knew anything about Infiniti or Mercedes you would know that Infiniti was the first car manufacture to produce blind spot intervention way before the Mercedes E-class, the previous M already had this function all the way back from 2004, The new E-class is what, a year old?
