Cited as Metallica's second best album, Ride the Lightning made Metallica more popular to the underground thrash scene in the eighties.

Some hits include my favorite For Whom the Bell Tolls, the ballad Fade to Black, the awesome self titled album song, the instrumental The Call of Ktulu and fan favorite Creeping Death.

Band members

James Hetfield: Vocals/Rhythm Guitar
Kirk Hammet: Lead Guitar
Cliff Burton: Bass
Lars Ulrich: Drums

  • @buddenbo Kill 'Em All was originally called "Metal Up Your Ass"

  • @Legometallica09 This album was originally titled "Metal Up Your Ass" but the label demanded a different album title.

  • To me, This is almost the piNnacle as their best album in their entire career to me. . AWESOME album

  • @owl316 you are a stupid asshole

  • IMO i think the album shouldve been called fade to black because ride the lightning was never said in the song or in ANY songs by metallica

    Fade to Black apperances:

    Fade To Black

    Sad But True (hidden message)

    Memory Remains

    And more

  • @southpark645 agreed.

  • @KillJoy353 technical skill lars isnt that good actually, but its his enthusiasm and ability to jump out of rhythm and back in is great, lars just fits metallica, they all have good chemistry, you cant just replace him yknow, but hes different because of his style ,enthusiasm and ability to get out and back in rhythm

  • @southpark645 Lars is enthusiastic, that's for sure, but not one of the best lol

  • @KillJoy353 yeah maybe because wherever may roam goes really slow and has the easiest drum beat in the world, but if you watch lars play he has fun with the songs hes doing on pretty much ANY song, you got put felling into whether it be aggression or sadness

  • @southpark645 funny story, me and my band started to play wherever i may roam yesterday, and about a minute into it my drummer looked at me andd said, I'm bored, stop.
