A couple of great tunes. The first is an Irish one called the Silver Spear usually played together with Maid Behind the Bar and the second is a French Newfoundland tune composed by Emile Benoit and named after Pistroli en Atlantique - a music festival held in New Brunswick I think.

  • reel de la pistroli? is there sheet music for this anywhere? anyone?

  • you may want to check out a book of music composed by Kelly Russell - it has some 250 fiddle tunes transcribed to sheet music, it may be there.... here is the link.. pigeoninlet dot com

  • very good.. its no load on ye. you should play some more Emile Benoit.. ;) that'd be wicked

  • I plan on adding more Emile tunes when I get the time.

  • Thumbs up guys. That second tune is quite nice. Never heard it before.

  • The second tune is an original one by Emile Benoit who lived on the Port au Port Peninsula. He has three albums to his credit, none of which are available today. He composed many great tunes and when I get the time I will post more of them.

  • Dont take this the wrong way but you should add a couple of double stops and a few rolls and cuts here and there, 4 sure in the second part of the spear, but I liked it well done lads.
