Dwight Howard and the Magic vs. the Rockets - Preseason

Just a video I made to show off Howard's first game of the 2010-2011 season. Can you see the differences between how he looked one year ago and now?




Also added some random highlights (I'll admit they weren't the best from other players, just random... got lazy but wanted to make the video a bit longer)


1:14 I understand he was fouled but again, this is to take a look at how he looks in the post. As you can see, Howard makes his move as soon as he gets the ball and is lightning quick. Us Magic fans are very used to see him take his sweet time and look a bit robotic (see 2007/2008ish Howard), and these little things show terrific growth.


Despite the bad rep of him having no post game, the game still produces more points per possession in the post than guys like Bogut, and Boozer, and that's counting a pretty low free throw shooting percentage.




Also, don't take this too seriously (as far as competition and think this is how he'd fare for the rest of the year). It's only preseason and Yao looked like a corpse out there. Still, it's fun to see just how different he looked a year and especially two years ago.

@chiladin wouldn't go as far as to say HORRIBLE. Carter was awful, Lewis was horrible on the offensive end. Still, he was able to shut down KG, and that was playing with a viral infection.

@schwarzerwolf07 Dwight worked out with Hakeem and he looks for able in the post. They won't be able to double-team him as much if his new found jumper is steady. But he's going to get you 18 pt and 13 t o14 rebounds and 3 blk's period. This year his scoring will increase.But the key to the Magic's success is Rashard Lewis. He played HORRIBLE last year against Boston. If he's not knocking down his shot the Magic will just get to the semi-finals and that's about it.
