John Bercow speech to become Speaker

I couldn't respect John Bercow anymore. Once a member of hard right wing, now a true avocate for reform and change. He is a man who will take no whip, even if it means losing his seat on the front bench, as he did in order to vote with the progressives on a bill which would give gays and lesbians the right to care and love a child. I couldn't think of anyone more deserving. Well done good sir!

He's clearly an articulate and highly intelligent person, but there's something about him that rubs me the wrong way. Arrogance, perhaps.

Though articulate; which should be a given quality for any Member of Parliament, this speech does not inspire me. The first three minutes are more a justification of why his age is not issue as opposed to the issues. This demonstrates perhaps an insecurity. Personally I preferred Sir Alan's speech which spoke articulately, eloquently and with heartfelt determination regarding reform of the House and the Speaker's role. Mr Bercow seemed more concerned about the reputation of the aforenamed aspect

He is unpopular because he is a greaser who sucked up to the Labour Party in order to get the Speakership

this guy is retarded what is he doing in politics?!?!?

@TheBighairyfart I would say so, considering she's pretty useless at this point. I wish she'd be gone already.
