  • TMOT, I am not a religious person, and I deny a lot of religious teachings, but I try to live by the teachings of Jesus. I accept him more as a philosopher and a mentor than God. Here's my dilemma: do you think we earn a way to heaven through good deeds or through faith?

  • @Murchik1985

There is even honor among thieves, Therefore, even they have good deeds. So if deeds were sufficient, we would not need Faith in God, would we? For whosoever believes that he is the Son of God, Crucified and Raised, and Believes on Him as the Savior of the World, as matter of Faith, shall have Everlasting Life. You can quote me on that.

  • TMOT can we at least agree that there is just as much limited proof of the existence of god as creator as there is for the theory of evolution. Isn't it all subjective anyway, based on ones own life experiences and education?

  • @rawgstal

I will disagree on the limited proof aspect for all I see and am is ample. Imagine the world an empty jar, sealed with a lid. After say a miliniem, would you agree it would still be empty based on your experiences? Nothing happens in a vacuum. I chose to believe by Faith. I'll give you that it alone, my Faith, is indeed subjective. As for the rest, do you. I'll take my chances by living for a God you choose not to. I have nothing to lose, all to gain.. You believe not with no gain.

  • @tmotofga your aspirations to gain something implies a lack. I seek no gain because i lack nothing in the way of faith. I don't qualify my faith. it requires none because faith is an axiom. The very nature of seeking to gain something from your works implies desire, which is on at best an illusionary entrapment akin to the desire to be rich materially. good works are there own reward. good works and kindness preserves our species. If jesus healed a blind man why not cure blindness instead?

  • @rawgstal

Dude, move on. I'm happy to let you do. Now will you please, please, let me do me in peace? God damn, what is wrong with you people? I don't interfer with no man or woman's choice AND RIGHT to do do and believe whatever they choose as long as it impedes my pursuits and this is MY HOUSE! However, there is always some Johnny come lately seeking to sound enlightened and tell me or even have the unmitigated gall to question why I choose to believe for whatever reason. Now be gone!

  • @Murchik1985 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; Ephesians 2:8

  • @TMOT

I think you're 100% spot on about your analysis of people that constantly need external stimuli. It's funny, but I've been deemed odd and all the way even to 100% certifiably nuts for at times driving around without any music in the background. People are scared of the truth because it conflicts with the matrix-like false reality created and sustained by our money-controlled/based cultural institutions.

  • @ReligionlessFAITH I don't think I've seen the word faith used in that context before. I tend to think of faith as belief without evidence, but if "faith is in the act of seeking," I reckon I do have faith that there are real answers to the real mysteries. If I didn't believe this was so, I wouldn't be compelled to even contemplate them. Still, the word faith brings more baggage and confusion with it than almost any other I can think of.

  • @Murchik1985 (part 2) Once again I invite you to go to church WITH...an OPEN...heart. Instaeed of looking for reasons why not to go to church, maybe instead look for reasons to go to church BUT, pray first for guidance. THIS is key. I recently went to a church I will not be going back to for some reasons you gave example of. Before I excepted the invitation I did NOT pray for guidance. Big mistake.Thank you for your sincere reply and please take mine in kind. Ill pray for you sir.

  • @Murchik1985 "that they may be seen of men". If it is for the hypocrites to be seen by men ONLY to glorify themselves then yes they are indeed hypocrites. If it is to preach the word to glorify Jesus then theyre not. Some do show off(christians are people too)most are not boastful of themselves but of Jesus. Preachers are to teach the word of God AND, our pastor always tells us to tell him if we find error in his teachings. There are false prophets, this is why we must be careful.

  • @Murchik1985 Through both, through believeing in God AND via good deeds. There's proof of God and I got it. The speed of light is in the Holy Quran.Time is relative as anybody knows, thusly a day to God is 2.5 billion years.2 days times 2.5 billion is approx 5 billion years, the age of the earth as said in Bible and Quran.6 days times 2.5 billion(a day to God) is equal to approx 15 bil years, age of the universe, just like God said. Speed of light in Quran as angels go 1000 of lunar count in a day

  • @ReadYoConstitution good way to think ... faith is in the act of seeking....you can't have faith in things already found...because those are known and require no faith. You can only have faith in you own perception of the unknown...placing faith in someone else's perceptions is a placebo those unwilling or unable to build their own faith do.

Faith lies in the questions for which we have no answers, The mere act of asking builds faith, and sometimes, rational answers.

  • @Murchik1985 My own faith.. my speculation is that there are countless eternal beings, each perfectly created to willingly fulfill an eternal function. Sometimes an eternal being may become discontent and unwilliing to perform it's eternal duty. This temporary reality is created where our eternal beings can self-justify their capacity for righteousness. By our temporal actions our eternal beings self-justify their contentment with the perfection they are created to be. .. easy.

  • @Murchik1985 The life you will lead cannot be altered from the plan of the omniscient Creator. A person will always choose to do exactly what they are created to choose to do. The temporal barrier that keeps us locked in the current of time prevents observation of the eternal from the temporal. so to us, it appears as if we are self-directing and autonomous. This carnal persepctive of freedom within our circumstance allows our eternal beings to know who they are, and be content.

  • @Murchik1985 I don't believe in heaven and hell, I believe in what I can observe and intuit. I can observe our temporal reality, I can intuit an eternal reality, based on a paradigm of an indefinable omniscient Creator of our temporal reality We can not exist temporally if we do not also exist simultaneously as eternal beings. The eternal realm and the temporal realm, that's it, no heavn no hell, no judgement... omnicience knows before it creates....self-justification ftw.
