I love basset hounds!!! I have a 3 y/o tri-color that was a rescue and I can't imagine ever having any other breed of dog. They're just so sweet and loving. Love the video.

Nice video, my former roommate had a golden female Basset Hound named Penny, it was not as heavy set as these, and it had just golden and white colour, i will post a video response to this, and please let me know if you have seen others like this, cause i want to purchase on later this year

Is there differnt sub-breeds of basset hound? I had one and she was extremely sleek and more athletic looking. While most basset hounds look more heavy set and bulky like this one.

Hi christmanpunch - No there is no sub-breed, just a lot of breeders. There is a standard of the breed that the BHCA shows on it's website. However, at shows I see all kinds from the more "bulky" to the "sleek"! They are all cute. However, we want to ban puppy mills. Do your research before you buy a basset. Anyone can feel free to e-mail me and I will send you a guideline.

There are all kinds of bassets and I have had them all! Bassets can out distance a marathon runner in top shape.
