I know SlayerMetallica was talking about Bill Ward. But he probably won't see this comment and then he'll reply to the other one where I was yanking his chain. Bill Ward was/is an awesome drummer. Especially live. And on Sabbath albums, his drumming is very noticeable like it was with John Bonham and Led Zeppelin. Both were great bands!

Then you hear Bill and think "Holy Fuck? Is there anyone better?"

Easily, the best 2 drummers ever. I just wish Bill would have had a little bit more of a ego. That ego Bonham had really made him stand out. And if Bill had that ego, no one would be forgetting his name or what band he was with.

@Samsgarden Yeah Bills very capable, flows into it, very natural style. Not many drummers add that other dimension. At times Bozzio and Ansley Dunbar went there with Zappa also Beefhearts mid eighties drummer Robert Williams had his own bunch of surprises going on during Doc at the radar station. tracks Best batch yet and Dirty Blue Gene come to mind first. Worth a look if your into different drumming structures, but warn the music is right out of left field and an acquired taste.
