Robin Nest Feb/Mar 2009 Chicks 9 days old

Day 9 and the chicks are starting to get their brown feathers growing (particularly from the spine). Eyes are fully open and alot more activity with preening (or scatching) and leg stretching going on. Amazing to think that in about 5-7 days these guys will be leaving the nest. ------- BACKGROUND: This video series is taken from a nestbox webcam in my garden mounted a number of weeks ago on a fence post replacing a box where this same robin had nested the previous two years (two broods last year). The camera is an infra-red CCD camera (black and white when dark, colour during daylight hours). After the mounting the box a few weeks earlier the female was already checking it out after 20 minutes and nested a week or two later (started 17feb2009).
