The Treatment of Anger & Aggression

Anger and aggression are often described as symptoms attached to any one of a number of psychiatric disorders. However, for many clients with histories of early life neglect and abuse (often in combination with alcohol and/or drug use) anger and aggression is used as a survival strategy learned between the ages of 8-16. In their minds and in their histories, anger has often worked for them to keep people away and preserve personal control. This video describes the latest scientific understanding of this group of clients, placing emphasis on verbal management and behavioral stabilization.
