EQ1 was actually like the 3rd MMO (Neverwinter Nights 1991 ;) Ultima Online ;) ), but whatever. Indeed it is one of the pioneers of the genre and in general saying one game took something from another is not very relevant :) It is important what it does with those ideas it borrows. Take Runes of Magic for example. It is a 99.9% WoW clone...even the textures are the same and the client structure, but if WoW had the same features as RoM, I would still be playing it today.

Lacks polish, racial mounts where rushed and uncreative, and the non-human races in the game are just a human body with an animal head on them. Games runs better on a Mac running Windows via Boot Camp than a PC. It almost feels like old school EQ with so many races and home cities, then you play it and realize EQ was far more creative.

hmm, i did not understand to much of that. but if i'm going to run it on lowest graphics at all will this do? processor: Intel Core2 Duo CPU t7100 1.80 GHz

and I only got 2k ram

And wow has taken all of this from EQ 1, which has taken it from....list goe son. So any comparison like that is sensless really.

this reminds me of WoW because of the interface setup and casttime of spells. like, the character image along with his hp and mp is on the top left corner of the screen, the spells are on the bottom, it shows entering a new area the same way, quests tracking is the same (notice beggining of video the yellow text on the right side) along with other details.
