With a heavy heart, I share this video with the world. This is a video compilation of the last television appearance of the late actress, Dominique Dunne, a 22 year old actress, who co-starred in "Poltergeist". Dominique was a victim of domestic violence, at the hands of her former boyfriend. Dominique Dunne was the daughter of producer & author, Dominick Dunne. She was strangled in the driveway of her home on Oct. 30th, 1982, by her former boyfriend, who was trying to reconcile their relationship. Dominique lay in a coma for five days, and finally passed away Nov. 4th, 1982, less than 20 days before her 23rd birthday.

Just a few weeks prior to her fatal attack, she guest starred in a episode of "Hill Street Blues". That episode aired about two weeks after her death, on Nov. 18th, 1982. In the show, she played a 15 year old, unwed mother, who was herself, a victim of parental violence at the hands of her mother. The night before filming began, Dominique was brutally assaulted by her "real life" boyfriend. In the show, her face was full of bruises, the result of her boyfriend punching her in the face. Filming of the episode proceeded, as the bruises fit in with the storyline.

If any person, or entity, feels they wish to have this video taken down, due to a claim of copyright infringement, I would ask you to look within your heart, to waive any such claim, this one time. Dominique Dunne was not an inanimate object captured on film. She was a daughter, a sister, a niece, or a granddaughter, to members of our human family. Her life was snuffed out, in a cold, brutal attack. Let the real life bruises inflicted on this young woman, stand forever in cyberspace. It DOESN'T become any more real than the scenes of this poor, battered actress trying to live her life, and do her job. My thoughts and many prayers go out to the entire Dunne family!

  • This is quite eerie...how can someone do that to someone else??? I'll never understand! :,( I pray that we can put in power some people who will stop things like this from happening and letting killers get away with murder...I'm so sorry, Dominique! It wasn't your fault...and justice will be served one way or another...God bless and keep safe anyone who may be going through any of this kind of hurt and turmoil in their lives or know anyone who is! Please say something...anything! </3

  • @Chloey0789 Thank you for your beautiful and eloquent comments! Your words speak for many millions of us who just cannot understand what rationale drives these abusers to act in such an inhumane way! Your post has truly touched my heart! ;-)

  • According to imdb..com, all of the bruises were real and Dominique wore no makeup. They also say that Sweeney/Maura did only 2 1/2 years for her murder, being found guilty of "unintentional manslaughter". How can you strangle someone and it be unintentional murder? What a maggot...he'll get his eventually.

  • Thank you SO much for posting this.

  • Dominique was in a very abusive relationship with her boyfriend who was insanely jealous and prone to physical violence. Her career was just getting underway when she was brutally slaughtered in her Hollywood home,

  • She was so little and fragile..I feel so bad for her. R.I.P.

  • Guys who turn violent against women are nothing but scum. Let alone murderers!

  • @MrMarty444 because the federal gov't did a moratorium on death penalty cases around 1970. there was too much evidence of people being wrongly convicted and wrongly executed. so anyone on death row in all 50 states had their sentences commuted. the death penalty wasn't reinstated until 1976. so that is why charles manson is still alive. and he didn't kill anyone, sick bastard that he is.

  • @CarolAnnePoltergeist Well you can trust me :) lol ... the problem is they go for the wrong guys just because they have the hots for them and whatnot.

  • @Y2Jin99 Actually, this was my own video capture taken from my personal video tape collection. When "Hill St." first premiered in Jan. of 1981, I started taping the show on my old Sony Betamax SL-5200 VCR. I continued recording the show for all seven seasons. I only missed two episodes of the 146 episodes broadcast. So, what you're seeing here in my clip is the way the show originally aired on NBC TV. Thanks for your comment! ;-)

  • @Lottoman17 actually this could just be a mirrored version. Its on youtube alot to avoid copyright infringement. I bet anything if I found this ep on the DVD that sign wouldn't be backwards.
