Great video..I posted the video of my Basenji Mina singing also ( to my flute-- which makes it very hard to practice)- she harmonizes- comes in and stops- she really loves doing it. It's been a year or more- I'll have to make another one. These are incredible smart dogs- but occasionally do things that makes me wonder- what are they thinking? ( kind of like people)

We raised and showed Basenjis. They are very sweet dogs...but rather stupid (and we had several).
The dogs whose images were carved in the pyramids! Yet eons of in-breeding have not enhanced their IQ. To the contrary... ;-)
All our Basenjis hated other dogs...and the bigger the other dog was, the more they hated him. Unfortunate...

Cute dog. ^_^

Man, I miss my Basesnji very much. We had to get rid of her because we moved to an apartment but we made sure we gave her to the best of the best and to be with her own kind... the BRATS association.
Gosh, I miss my Sugar :[
i love her!

cute dog BTW ^^

You're an idiot. If they were hurting his ears, he'd be trying to get away or shield himself from the sound, not singing along. He is just doing that because the sound of long, clear, sustained notes triggers his instincts to howl with a pack like his wolf ancestors would!

Oh my gosh your dog was trying to harmonize with the violin!
-
hahahha cute. but i would not like to hear that during the middle of the night

Actually it is the higher notes that bother their ears and would force them to want to howl louder then the noise. My first dog used to howl when he heard the church bells go off and he wouldn't stop until it stopped. But still this here is still ver cute.

I can't image ever wanting dogs other then basenjis to be honest. I've had four of them (have two now) and they are, to my mind, the best. Basenjis do have their negatives yes- they are house destructive for sure. But there is no insane barking when someone walks by the house, they are like cats and groom themselves so baths are rare. And they aren't high strung needing to be entertained all the time. Sadly my 'Senjis don't talk much like this one. They are silent and Yodel to greet only
