This relatively unknown and unpublished ragtime composer has issued a couple of the most beautiful and articulate rags ever produced (in my opinion). He belongs in the ranks with Lamb and Scott, and this particular work is proof. Take a trip down the rapids on this musical ragtime journey.

Enjoy this classic and intricate rag as performed here on the 1925 Stroud Duo Art Pianola .

Thanks for viewing !

  • Wonderful song, always in a good mood everytime I listen, no matter the situation! And I would love to have a talk with the one person who dared hit the dislike button! There is nothing wrong with this song, I love it!

  • @mechanicsnut Some people do it just because they can do it. It is a reason many a producer disables the ratings.... but I am glad you like it... it was always one of my favorite rags and is a rarely heard one...:)

  • This made me smile. :D Awesome piece; thanks for posting!

  • @HM0880 Thanks, Glad you like it. Got a great JF Lamb rag coming out shortly.

  • thanks dave for introducing me to other great ragtime composers such as lamb cooke and hampton - most people equate ragtime with joplin but these others deserve to be uncovered an appreciated too - your channel is a wonderful discovery!

  • @Pianosyncrazy

    I'm looking forward to it!

  • Ragtime - Rhythm characterized by strong syncopation in the melody with a regularly accented accompaniment - (Fun to hear and enjoy but for me it was always difficult to play). I loved it in the l970's when the movies caused a re-surge in its popularity.
