  • Is it bright enough to light up a 15'x15' room with some diffusers?

  • @Gunner3210

    Yes should work ok

It's very white though it would work well in a kitchen or office area.

It's not a cosy living room bedroom kind of light.

  • @DarcyAerisWood OK.....

  • @steverogan Octane resists combustion, it makes fuel difficult to ignite preventing pre ignition.

  • yeah i would just get more lasers and re-solder them in..but there almost 50 to 60 bucks a pop...i can run the projo on like 4 without any discernible color loss or contrast lost.with only minimal brightness loss like maybe 200 lumens loss..but still thats like 240 bucks just in 4 alone. when i can get a led that pumps out more alot more lumens in almost the same wavelength for like 50 or 70,lol plus the laser that came out of them are dangerous as hell..1w 44nm..burn the hell outta ya.

  • @steverogan yeah the factory lumen range was 2300 lumens..im thinking of going to between 4500 and 6000 to hopefully compensate for any range loss due to using a 470nm high power blue led (the lasers are 445nm blue so im pretty close to the ballpark)...there is a hole discussion group on photolexicon if you would like the link...oh and thanks for the analogy puts alot of things into perspective for me thanks.

  • @KeithWasHere1 you would need to bring that 20 volts downto 18 for sure.

it like the octane in a car see the other reply I sent.

  • @KeithWasHere1 Lasers are the way to go due to the directional nature.

I think you will find the led will work but with limited range.

You should post some video sounds like a cool project…

  • @KeithWasHere1 If you make 4 amps available to the led it will only take what it needs to run

Like MPG the bigger the engine the more gas it uses

    A 1 ltr car will do 50 MPG=1 gallon per 50 miles

    A 6.2 ltr truck will do 10 MPG=1 gallon every 10 miles

To do 100 miles the car uses 2 Gallons and the truck uses 10 gallons.

The car uses 2 amps the truck uses 10 amps.

Both run on 92 octane say that's the volts if you put 100 oct in the it would blow the engine and if you put less in it would not run.

  • @steverogan they were harvested for other uses,i got the projectors practically factory fresh but with the laser and heat sink blocks removed, but im sure i can get them to operate by using an led of similar power and wavelength.but im also experimenting with a white one jsut to see what happens.
