And please don't tell us bullshit about Russian being similar to Ukrainian (aside of some adopted for Russian public "Ukrainian" language instances, e.g. Verka Serdiuchka, some of VV songs). My relatives from Siberia visiting us couldn't understand language of our national TV. They hated that TV for them not being able to continue watching their favourite Mexican soap operas. My girlfriend is from Moscow. She doesn't like Odesa Opera House for its Ukrainian text ticker, etc.

Good for you. Because eventhough I am Ukrainian (and speak perfect Ukrainian) I often cannot recognize words in their singing. Try "Kolyskova" for example. There are some very Ukrainian cultural things which most of today's Ukrainian generation wouldn't recognize, no talking about Russian.
