29th Annual RoseSpiel Curling Bonspiel - April 3, 2010 - Plattsville, Ontario

It's been a fixture in Plattsville for a long LONG time, in fact, according to Jimmy Thompson [aka 'Cracker'] it's "almost as old as dirt". We're talking about the infamous RoseSpiel at the Plattsville Curling Club [where way back roses were the prizes!] Things get rolling with a 7am great breakfast at Cec's, followed by some crazy curling with a few special rules, some lunch and a few beers to wash it down, MORE crazy curling, then BBQ'd steaks [sometimes cooked INDOORS], turkey shoots, a few curling shoes being burned in the middle of the ice, a couple of keg races, dice games, freezer jumping contests, Karaoke over at Shakers Bar, all this while consuming pails of beer and other libations; it's all part of this day-long night-long fun event. Hey, where were YOU when the RoseSpiel was going on?
