  • Very informative introduction to the symphony!

  • According to narrator GULAG is the reason of this masterpiece. Long live GULAG!

  • I think that if one desires to decipher a piece such as this, one must keep immense caution at bay. I mean, who doesn't have difficulty deciphering the emotions, score marks and all the other parts of the score from say Mozart or other composers of the various other previous eras. A note to caution I say.

  • 4:10 - 5:47. one of the most erratic pieces I have listened to. Just love it.

  • @redword2007 I'd have to agree with the meaning behind your sarcasm, i was simply making a joke via wordplay.

    The western world shifted them meaning of the world during this time it was no longer a term for an economic system but a synonym for corruption, evil and oppression which just isn't true.

    However... Overly Authoritiarian gov't systems haven't convinced me of their affectiveness only the conterary.

    one final note, i personally enjoy the socialism of my health care, and other services

    The West never engaged in anti-Communist propaganda during the Cold War;

    It really is Santa Claus who brings those gifts at Christmas;

    And the tooth fairy does exchange cash for molars.

    Bless.

  • @metafixi It's music from The Golden Age. You can buy Rozhdestevensky's complete ballet recording.

  • @redword2007 actually it is an anti-authoritarian, examining of a composer surpressed by totalitarian state ...

    Words are wonderful aren't they? We just said the same thing ;)

  • wow, I am so glad I found this. I'm writing a research paper and this is an indispensable source! very well done and captivating video.
