This is very rare recording - Arthur Brown and his mates performing 3/5 of whole "Fire Suite" in BBC studio in 1968.
The performance is available on a bootleg where you can hear Arthur singing I Put A Spell On You and Child of My Kingdom and also few songs released with Kingdom Come (Space Plucks, Water, Gypsy) and other stuff.
I've found the bootleg on some russian blog - it's still there :-)
Enjoy!

  • metalheads WISH they could be dark as this!

  • Surely they dream about it :-)

  • Terrific stuff, this! Was Vincent Crane still in the band at this time? Carl Palmer, too?

  • Vincent was there for sure. I think Carl Palmer joined the band after their USA tour in 1969 (correct me if I'm wrong). Before Carl the drummer was Drachen Theaker. So it is Drachen you can hear on this recording.

Drachen was really addicted to drugs and they say he couldn't keep the tempo (but I can't hear that at all) and Vincent was fed up with him. Arthur had choice - to keep Vincent or Drachen. Vincent stayed and the new drummer was Carl.

  • Hello! Is this released as official CD, or only available from the internet download? BBC Arthur Brown

    Thanks

    Victor

  • It's unofficial.

  • Pretty much all of his songs were about people roasting alive in Hell; yeah, that's pretty damn dark! The keyboardist makes Jon Lord sound like effin' Liberace.
