@thaunbeated i think its more of the idea of how one would go about soloing the artifact more than a class choice on their part

I play assassin and I use a different method, especially when such terrain isn't available. I burst the protector until his health is at 3/4 or my health is low, and I fall back out of his range and recover. Then, I burst again and again and again until the artifact is mine :D
It's much faster and I can get it done in a few minutes, but it's also much riskier. Use whatever method you like best.
