She's not faking the accent.. I had a US "northern" accent.
I've been living with my husband in the south for almost 3 years, and I've picked up some "twang".
If it's all you hear, you're bound to pick it up.

@DimSimToughBitch It is completely possible to adopt accents. I major in sociology and am an avid researcher of psychology and it's very well known fact that people will subconsciously adapt the social norm in place they live, especially speech patterns.

Very few people's accents are completely changed when they move to another country as adults. Usually if one spends a certain amount of time there, their accents can be altered a little, but never completely changed. The fake accent here is so annoying. She'll always be from Michigan.
