@hikinguphigh Yes it will, I use my filter on a Sigma 10-20 and it works well.

i dont know if i would say never to use this on a UWA, instead of putting the concentration in the middle why not offset it a little? for example between 3:44-3:45 (also at 3:48ish) in your video, right before it goes right in the middle there is a good blueish sky on the left hand side, i personally think this looks great and use it on outdoor shots all the time. You can also use them when shooting someone in a car or through a reflective material with a uwa. BREAK THE RULES, it pays off.

@sogatt i prefer hoya hd myself but will it be ok at 17mm on a crop sensor canon

B+W filters are very expensive. They do make a "thin" versions of their filters that reduces the chance of vignetting and allows "stacking" additional filters on top of one another. For an analogy of "Polarization" ...Light travels in waves, Think of a single very narrow wave of light passing thru slats of a snow fence. If the slats are vertical the wave passes thru. If you rotate the fence 90 degrees the wave of light is blocked as the top and bottom (crest/trough) of the wave hits the slats.

@hikinguphigh You should definetely buy a B+W, you're probably going to have the filter for the rest of your life and due to this one time opportunity I think you should buy something with better quality. I bought a B+W MCR, its filter thread is made of brass so it's really easy to put on and off and there's no glare to speak of.

another great one, thanks Dom!

Hey Dom, nice n' informative video again. I want to answer your curiosity about 'Why a CPL works with a computer screen..?' It's because every lcd or led screen is to be laminate with a polarized sheet of polymer. So if tear down your mac screen and take out that sheet and reassemble the whole thing and turn that on again then you'll see nothing but a white screen. Then if you put your polarizer on you eyes then only you will be able to see the screen.
That's why the polarrizer works with lcds.

@Dombowerphoto insert limiter-plugin to the master bus and don't care anymore.

I have the same brand CPL, but I've noticed that these filters in particular get completely jammed onto the lens threads. I don't believe that I have over-tightened the filter (thumb tight) but they just seem to jam right on there if I leave them for a few days-weeks. Have you noticed it with yours too? It might just be a case of the brand's threading, my lens threading or a CPL design error in general. Cheers.
Its all physics! :)

I have never used FCP, but it is very familiar to Premiere Pro. There must be an audio mixer panel somewhere on your screen. Just reduce your master volume for exaple by -3dB. The peak of your meter shouldn't go into the red zone. It doesn't matter what video format are you using h.264, MPEG, ... I hope I could help!

@afloox thanks, i can see it does flash red especially in the intro. i think there is an auto audio enhancement which i have jsut tried, dont think i will bother uploading again as already got so many good comments on this though, but shall keep my eyes pealed in the next one. thanks

Hi Dom! Please check your volume meter next time because the sound cracks at the loud parts.
I like your videos, keep up the good work!
cheers

@afloox do you think that could be an issue that crops up when i export to h.264 format as it only happens in final cut pro, screenflow has never had an issue with the sound like that before...
