Beautiful birds. We have them here too. On the previous farm we lived on, there were so many of them in the front field. When they all flew up into the air at once, it was quite a lovely sight.

@kidowmer I only put thistle in the sock which finches love. The other birds seem to ignore it or the sock feeder bothers them. California has a native Scrub Blue Jay which is loud and aggressive so I don't put out any other bird food. We have enough natural food and flowers for the rest of the birds. Hummingbirds, Robins and Bug catchers are always welcome here.

It happened on a regular basis. It was as if the field and sky suddenly turned to gold.
