I remember when this show first started and I loved Kate and Nick, when Niamh Cusack quit and they killed the character off and you see Nick in the doorway holding their new baby in his pyjamas crying, I had a lump the size of a brick in my throat..They released a CD around that time and always showed that clip in the advert..I was only a kid in 1995 and Heartbeat was never the same after that. And to be honest it went on for about ten years too long for me, It should have been axed around 2000.

The people who got got rid of the top characters in this series then finally pulled out the plug with a clevery calculated excuse should be have been fired themselves. The tv will never be the same again without heartbeat.
