How to make a potato cannon and or gun

This was a video that i did in my multi media class. And with a couple of friends too.
In this video i describe how to make a potato gun
first get a 2ft long 2 inch wide abs pipe
an adapter that goes from 2 to 3 inch abs pipe
a 1ft long 3 inch wide abs pipe
and a coupler with a cap on the back

Then get a bbq ignition lighter and set up the wires like a spark plug..

It would cost you about 30 dollars to make one including glue, pipes, and the bbq ignition.

So you can just leave the wire loose in the cannon?

If i could redo the cannon i would have the wires on the outside. After a couple shots its gets junky and it doesn't fire well. Keep the wires on the outside.

does it have to be 1 foot? because im trying to have the chamber with a two foot pice but my parents want me to do it your way?

You can do it anyway you want to. There are many ways to make a potato gun, and you have the freedom to do what you want.

actually the better idea is to install the ignighter in the threaded cap. this makes it easier to clean for quicker rapid fire. because its best to wipe down the cumbustion chamber before each fire

Hey Guys, great vid but when you apply the pvc glue do the inside 1st then the outside of the other piece, that way you don't set it down & risk getting the glue on stuff or dirt mixed in there.
