But you're right, inciting people to act is incredibly important. I can't make anyone do anything - I can't say to them "now that you've looked at this idea from another angle, go do something about it." But I can suggest that they ask their friends or family (or me) what they think about a certain topic, I can help them come up with ideas for action and I can challenge them to take this change in perspective further. Definitely something I'll think about from now on.

Oh man... Where do I even begin to respond to this.

I've mainly concerned myself with activism that makes people think differently about ideas and terms and cultural norms they've taken for granted or taken as "the way". I believe helping people start to challenge and be critical of their cultures is very important because that's where change begins. That's the kind of effect I've anticipated from my work (or hoped for, anyway). And I think no act is too small.
