Island of Hope is an orphanage and educational center, which provides basic vaccinations, education and psychological support to abandoned and displaced children affected by the Tsunami.
Thanks to this project, the children are able to attend school daily and receive special arts training in yoga, dance and music. The center also instills the principles of non-violence and non-discrimination. The children become aware of human rights and, in particular, the rights of children.
The center also provides pre-school and primary education for children from poor families in the surrounding areas. Many of the families come from the Dhalit Caste and, having been deprived of their rights, lack the ability to provide basic education for their children.
I stayed at Island of Hope as a volunteer for a couple of weeks. It was a wonderfull time and changed my view of live. To thank the lovely people for the wonderfull time we (Lucie and me) made this movie.
Peace, Force and Joy
