Sorry ran out of room. As I said, we can't stop people from downloading our videos and the music or clips within. Unless you tell someone "Here's where to download this for free" you are not really doing anything wrong and we aren't in a place where we can just stop it from happening. We can tell people "please don't do that" but that's it. Besides all that, Viacome and other companies can afford it and it does hype their stuff.

PLUS... every single time you hear a video with music in it (for example) there is a pop up that says something to the effect of "like this song, purchase it at Itunes.)

@librarygoddess2 Exactly. Exactly that. Itunes also get's free advertising when we post songs and what have you. Far as I can see it, viacom has nothing to complain about and youtube should sccumb to them.

What Viacom as well as several people who bitch about their copyrighted songs don't get is that this what we do here on youtube basically free advertising for them. The only arguement that would even be slightly senseible that could be said against that, is that there are so many free downloading sites and youtube donwload converters that people can still get things for free. I say to that, unless a video on youtube is telling to to get something for free, we can't people who do it.
