The Telstra Ultimate® Mobile Wi-Fi is a super-fast battery-powered device that shares Next G® mobile broadband connectivity with up to five devices simultaneously.
It provides blistering download speeds ranging from 1.1Mbps to 20Mbps in Ultimate coverage areas which include Australia's capital city CBDs and associated airports, selected metropolitan hubs and more than 100 regional centres*. Business customers will be able to purchase the super-fast device from 21 June while a BigPond version will go on sale for consumers on 19 July.
Key specifications
Wi-Fi: 2.4GHz b/g/n enabled (Australia's first wireless N-standard battery-powered 3G Wi-Fi). Provides Wi-Fi coverage up to 50 metres outdoors.

Display: Large 3.5 x 3 cm LED display, showing at a glance battery level, number of devices connected, signal strength and coverage type, security key (which can be switched off) and more.

Web UI: When connected to the internet via the Ultimate Wi-Fi, customers can launch http://ultimate.telstra in their browser to manage device settings such as Wi-Fi range (low, med or high) network name and password, security levels and to view connected devices.
Battery life: Up to 3.5 hours' battery life under continuous use, standby battery life of up to 100 hours. Charges on-the-go via a bundled USB cable connected to a laptop or via an AC charger.

Weight: 100 grams
Antenna: Customers can team the Telstra Ultimate Mobile Wi-Fi with an optional external antenna to help improve performance in low signal areas.

  • @jezzastyle The ultimate has a theoretical limit of 42mbps. Real world speeds are between 1.1 Mbps and 20Mbps in all capital city CBDs and selected regional areas. Cheers sam

  • I live in USA and all I can say is the plans in your country are terrible:( I can get 10GB of 4g for 30 dollars a month plus unlimited 2g after i use the 10GB. Your home internet is also terrible, you cap your costumers at 500GB?!1?! Why cap? That's just stupid.

  • @scottylans Never mind, I checked - it's only 850mhz, no 900 - so even if it's unlocked. It will suck on Optus. The Elite model for 129$ is superior, despite the flashy screen.

  • Does anyone know if this thing is quad band? The Elite wifi is quad band I believe, so surely this one is too?
