Escape to your own little island of tranquility in this 600-square-foot studio guest cottage that perfectly encapsulates Carmel's unique style of casual comfort and urbane sophistication. Situated in a lovely quiet residential area, it is just minutes from stunning white beaches and the many exciting shops and restaurants of downtown Carmel and environs. A two-bedroom, two-bath main house is also available for rent together with the guest studio or separately.
Upon your arrival you will be greeted by complementary hors d'oeuvres and wine, spa passes from the famous Spa on the Plaza in downtown Monterey that has recently undergone a $2 million renovation, Scheid Wine passes, two free aquarium passes that are transferable to use as often as needed and a basket of local information. An assigned concierge vacation house manager is at your disposal to assist you during your stay. We have also provided spa amenities in the bathrooms, embroidered spa bathrobes, slippers and over sized towels and beach gear.
Natural sisal and jute rugs over a wide-plank wood floor contribute to the upscale beach motif, with its white, chocolate brown, tan and sea-foam color scheme and bright, upbeat tone. Warm yourself by a cheery wood stove while you play games, read or watch a 46-inch LCD HD TV with dish network service from a cushy white couch and chaise with an ottoman coffee table. If you choose, you can shop for fresh meats and seafood, fruits and veggies, gourmet cheeses, wines and pastries at nearby purveyors of local delicacies and prepare your own meals in the full-sized fully equipped white-tiled kitchen that has a flower-filled window box above the sink that overlooks a lush wooded area. The kitchen is equipped with a gas range, microwave, dishwasher and side-by-side refrigerator. A dark wood drop-leaf dining table behind the couch is set up to seat two but can be expanded to accommodate six.
A king bed, which can be converted to two twins, is topped with Memory Foam and appointed with luxury linens and a generous supply of throw pillows. A closet and two Bombay bedside bureaus provide ample storage. The studio can sleep two adults and one adult/child on a roll-away bed with Memory Foam mattress, and another small child on the couch (which is not a sleeper sofa but deep enough). The spotless white-tiled bathroom has a tub/shower combination.
Enjoy cocktails, morning coffee or take your meals at a teak bistro table and chairs for two on a small private wooden deck, accessible through sliding glass doors, that is filled with colorful potted plants. A gas grill is also provided. A shared washer and dryer are located in a nearby laundry room . Parking for one car in available on the street at the end of the driveway. If the main house is not rented than use of the carport is available with permission at time of arrival. If the main house is rented than you may use the driveway to unload and pack up or drop off and then return car to the street. This guest studio is adjacent to a larger two-bedroom two-bath cottage on a spacious, beautifully landscaped property with Point Lobos ocean views, hot tub, and deck that is also available for rent and pet friendly. The Guest Studio is very private and separated from the main house.
