if you use black powder, you have to make stronger plugs, because it burns slower than flash powder and the plugs take much more pressure on them.
That's EXCELLENT. Although I do not know why people mix sulfur in with the aluminium and potassium perchlorate. As far as I know, it is only there to lower the ignition temperature, which hardly is necessary when using proper visco or safety fuse. Googling KNO3 flash powder is kind of pointless, as this doesnt give any info on what metal fuel you use. Thunder #3 was easy enough to find. ;)

To save up perchlorate - 5 grams of FP with sulfur contains less perchlorate than 5 grams without it. ;) The nitrate FP mix was KNO3:S:Al=5:2:3 and I thought this was a known composition.

KNO3:S:Al 5:2:3 may be the most common composition, but not the only one, for sure. :) Personally I use what Google calls Thunder #4, i.e. Al and KClO4 OR a magnesium + nitrate flash powder. Very nice, regardless. I wish I had an electrical ignition device like yours.

Yeah well I made those electric ignitors myself. Maybe I'll make a tutorial some day, they're not that difficult to make. I use 12 volts, but I've also tested them on 9 volts without any problems.
