A bonus track off of the Stormwatch album.

Lyrics - I work in dark factories, a cog in the big wheel,
driving gray satanic mills and weaving sad stories.
And faceless masters oh, they pay me plenty
crumbs from their luncheon packs, harsh wine from bottles halk empty.
A stitch in time saves nine.
Said Cock Robin from the wall.
It's an early bird catches the worm.
Show a little pride before you fall.
So I flew to the south sun with birds of a feather
to drink in the warm nights and tell of fine weather.

A stitch in time saves nine.
Said Cock Robin from the wall.
It's an early bird catches the worm.
Show a little pride before you fall.

Listen all you young folk your lives on a timetable,
clocking on twenty-one fly while you're able.
A stitch in time saves nine.
Said Cock Robin from the wall.
It's an early bird catches the worm.
Show a little pride before you fall.

A stitch in time saves nine.
Said Cock Robin from the wall.
It's an early bird catches the worm.
Show a little pride before you fall.

  • Lyrics typos:

Said Cock Robin is "Sang Cock Robin"

harsh wine from bottles halk empty is "harsh wine from bottles half empty."

Last verse: It's an early bird catches the worm is "It's an early bird caught the worm."

  • I saw a link saying that Rebecca Black's 'Friday' is the worst song ever. I've sent a few people the link to this song. Doubt this would get 30m views, mind.

I've actually got a 7" white vinyl of this, if anyone wants it.

  • Actually that is not Maddy Prior on this track, Although Ian and Maddy's tracks have passed a few times, this ladies name is Angela Allen if memory serves, and it may not! But I know Maddy and...that ain't her.

  • @crossEyedMary69 cock robin es el macho del petirrojo (robin is a bird, cock robin is a male)

  • sounds like "sang cock robin from the wall".. not "said" dunno

  • So this is Tull's take on Disco... nice.

  • Don't understand who Cock Robin is - I'm not from England ;->>

  • Yes I know, maybe I should have put that in the description box.

  • Maddy Prior is also singing on this track.

  • Excellent visuals, Aqua! (You're really gonna get tired of reading that comment from me. Aw, such a tough life, isn't it? LOL!) Wow, female backing vocals on a Tull song? Very rare, indeed (apart from Maddy Prior's noteworthy participation on "Too Old To Rock 'n' Roll"). This is quite a wonderfully obscure track for those of us who can't affort to replace our stone age era Tull CDs with all of those spiffy remastered discs, including an array of bonus tracks from throughout the years. Thanks!!!
