Twiyubake Family (known as "Twiyubake") is an Indego Africa partner cooperative located in the Kayonza District of Rwanda. Made up of 28 master banana leaf weavers, Twiyubake has made Indego Africas beautiful Banana Platters since July 2008 and is launching an exciting woven bracelet for Polo Ralph Lauren in June 2010. Faced with the most difficult of circumstances, including the loss of multiple family members in the 1994 Genocide, these master weavers are determined to lift themselves out of poverty with spirit and dignity. Through the commitment of donors at The Falls Church, Indego Africa started its Literacy and Financial Management training programs at Twiyubake in 2009, and the women are already flourishing with their new skills and confidence.
