Er, you forgot that if there's a number on the outside, the slope goes up. I.E if it looks like
1/2|x+2|>y then wouldnt the v go up 1/2 spaces?

I didn't forget.
I made a serious of videos on this particular topic. (Website on my channel page). On the last video, I use an example, where the A = 1/2.
I do not mention slope, because I prefer tables. I do mention the breadth of the graph is dependent on the A term. I.e., a value further from 0 will increase the gradient. A value closer to 0 will expand the graph.
