I went to Newlands School in Workington and left in 1969. This is amazing footage and great choice of music. Very nostalgic. Thank you.

my mum was born on the marsh and quay in 1961, she was at this carnival! the 'retiring queen' at the end of the clip is my great auntie pat! I'd love to know who posted this clip!

Ah the days when England was World Champions in football...before the dreaded curse struck....and it was all downhill from there....so sad...but back then so lovely.

I was born in Workington in 1967 and left June 10 1969 for Australia on the 10 pound scheme....so we just missed each other and becoming friends Happybricks.

This is absolutely brilliant! I was 2 weeks old and was probably there with my mam who was a Quay kid. Her mam Ann carr was first M & Q Carnival Queen but I don't know which year.
