I Don't Love You: Chapter 18

i wanted to leave you hangin for a lil bit, but im not that mean :)

He was hunched over, looking at the space between his feet.
I leaned against the doorjamb and crossed my arms. "So," I said, mockingly "What brings Mr. Jonas over to my house?"
It took him a minute to respond. He lifted his head to look at me. "I just wanted to say I'm sorry."
His response caught me totally off guard. He looked back down, shuffling his feet nervously.
I regained my composure. "What do you have to apologize for?" I said in bewilderment. "I'm the one who ran away!"
"I know." He replied. "It just felt like the right thing to say."
I was about to reply but I felt his lips on mine. My first impulse was to wrap my arms around him because thats what I used to do, but then the reality set. I pulled away.
"This is wrong, Kevin," I whispered, for our faces were still close together. "You have a girlfriend."
He sighed and leaned away from me. "You're right." He turned his back on me and walked toward his house.
I opened my mouth to stop him but I didnt say anything.
As I went into my house and closed my door behind me, a single tear ran down my cheek.
