I knew Carol and her parents when Carol was living in Eagleville MO. I worked with her mother and Carol at the Dinner Bell. This is such a tragic. That man should never of been released. Carol always had a smile on her face and was nice to everyone she knew. And it is a shame she was murdered doing someone a favor, but that was Carol. She would do anything for anyone. There is nothing I can say to make it easier. Lisa(Williams,Mossburg) Buffington....lisapgdn@yahoo.c

I feel for this woman BUT she is so wrong to blame Gov. Huckabee for this man's terrible crime. No one has the ability to KNOW what will happen in the future except for GOD. I can see how she wants to blame someone, but this is so unfair to Gov. Huckabee who is a wonderful man.

The only person to blame for the rape and murder is Dumond himself. Arkansas Governors can't prohibit paroles anyway, so there was nothing Governor Huckabee could have done.

The parole board was made up entirely of Clinton and Tucker appointees. Huckabee didn't pressure them and wouldn't have been able to anyway. Gov. Huckabee did the right thing and REFUSED to commute the sentence. Life in prison without parole for a rape offense is fairly excessive, so when the parole board decided to grant Dumond supervised parole, Huckabee saw no need to fight them over it.

Remember though, Dumond was attacked, castrated, and allegedly raped by goons allegedly sent by a corrupt sheriff who later displayed Dumond's testicles in a pickle jar. It was over politicized and clemency was granted by Jim Guy Tucker. The parole board freed him after Huckabee refused to grant clemency.
He pushed the parole board to let the dangerous rapist out on the streets, and now wont admit he was wrong. He also pushed the board to let Meth dealers back out! Week on crime!
However, Illegal aliens LOVE this guy, as he wants amnisty for 20 million of them! Plus, he raised taxs several times in Arkansas.

In a piece for the Huffington Post, journalist Murray Waas says that Huckabee was "provided letters from several women who had been sexually assaulted by DuMond and who indeed predicted that he would rape again -- and perhaps murder -- if released."
Despite those letters, Huckabee, as governor, pressed for DuMond's release.
