@lowcostgadgets I use a Philips webcam for my telescope, you can buy an adapter that lets you fit the cam straight to the scope which is handy and I'm absolutely certain you can buy the same for a logitech cam.
Either that or you make one from an old 35mm film canister.
Google it. :)

The American flag is just to the right of the big crater !

wie krass.. aldi teleskop.. würde es auch reichen um jupiter zu sehen?

@frinkleton1 There is a fundamental limit to the resolution of a telscope. It depends on its diameter, to be able to see the stars and stripes on an American flag on the moon you would need a telescope 3-4 miles in diameter. To just be able to see it as a blurry dot, you would only need a scope of just under 300 metres diameter. :)

Great shot of the moon.!
Tell me, how did you attach the webcam the your telescope and did you use any lens.? Barlow or 40mm lens.?

@8Zeitgeist .Honestly, mine cost me 39 Euro, about 35 $ I believe. Without the webcam, bought it at ALDI (german megashop).Sold all over Europe.

that would be cool if you captured a meteorite smashing into the moon, throwing up a bunch of dust and creating a crater.
wheres this american flag then?

I can remember the first time I looked at the moon through a telescope and watched it move like that, and for some reason it really struck home that I was looking at another world. I was hooked on astronomy from that point on.
