    It'll be a popular choice, but my favourite murder mystery film would be Se7en. Mostly because the entire film is viewed from the POV of the two detectives. Unlike many of its inferior imitators, the film never shows the murders taking place to "build tension", or shows the victims alive - all you ever see of them is the crime scene afterwards. The film completely focuses on the investigation as it unfolds. Seems simple enough, but is actually a very effective way to tell a story like this.
