  • I suppose its faster and more "shreddie" than clapton's version, but it doesn't sound half as good. shredding just doesn't quite work on this song. Clapton's solo has much more feeling and his bends and vibrato's are way better than eddie's on this track. the way eddie's playing here kind of makes the song lose its soul, which is a shame 'cause eddie is a damn goo guitarist- one of the best ever. i guess this clip shows how the blues is more about feeling than technique.

  • @Adnoydall lol dude you really need to get some better material i have seen you reply with the same response a thousand times haha

  • @Adnoydall my ,my the best part of you must have ran down your mama's chin!! signed, the fag who is drinking the piss!!

  • @jimbob32292 First you say my comment makes no sense then you ramble on implying that I said Pettruci and Dimebag were bad guitarists when i never mentioned them! Dimebag is a very good guitarist and Pettruci is one of the top greats but they do ALOT more than sloppily shredding or tapping the same few notes over and over and making alot of noise with the distortion, they also actually melodise their solos unlike eddie's "eruption".

  • @jimbob32292 ^ *petrucci

  • @joelakastud123 well what you said makes no sense whatso ever dude..so your saying that people like Dimebag and lets say even John Pettrucci who are complete "shredders" mess up and sound like ass? Actually technically speaking they all play their instruments technically sound faster cleaner and better then any blues/slow tempo artist. the scales and progressions they use are twice as complicated and hard to pull off... do your research retard EVH is more then tapping too

  • @1stHokageSama especially since van halen messes up on almost all of his notes when he "shreds" and it sounds like ass

yeah let me shred the same 3 notes over and over...now lets move on to the next 3 notes to sloppily shred or tap over and over now lets name it eruption

and the same people who kiss his ass are the people who say "yngwie malmsteen doesnt play with feel he just shreds fast and steve vai is just a bunch of effects" people just shouldnt be allowed to look at a guitar

  • Five people have no appreciation for the blues

  • F'ng amazing! Simply the best!

  • @andresihotang Hi dude, i'm not knocking eddie, he's one of my favorite guitarist of all time and like me he was inspired by Clapton. Its just that on this occasion his style has clashed with the genera of music. that's why i said "i guess this clip shows how the blues is more about feeling than technique." 'cause eddie's technique is awesome but the song is lacking emotion.

  • @1stHokageSama It is simply because Eddie is not a blues-influenced guitarist..

He almost killed all the hype and popularity of guitar blues and made a revolution of guitar playing in the 1978 by making ERUPTION

In here he paid respects and tributes to blues guitarists. While it isn't really bluesy it shows that how Eddie Van Halen respected his 'senior' counterparts and blues-based guitar playinh despite the fact many said he is the real god guitar.. So it is strange if you knock Eddie :(
