That's funny (!), but this sensation is anything but relaxing, boy, I wish it was!

I have been experiencing Taos-like hum in central FL since December 2008. (B4 that I experienced a jolting vibration that was unlike anything I had ever experienced)
To make a LONG story short, I am 100% POSITIVE that it is various CELL TOWERS s in my area, though from dec08 to aug09 it came from one direction. I can tell the direction and I ABSOLUTELY have found cell towers emitting this obscene "noise". I was near the towers and the sound came from the TOP, but I can't record the low freq!

Interviewing a priest and freaky devil looking dude puts this issue in the realm of kookery.

I would have agreed with you before this year, because my sleep has been destroyed by 1) vibration 2)constant hum 3)oscillating hum
If someone had asked me a year ago, do cell towers make noise, I would have said no way! But I have had first-hand experience, I followed a low freq humming sound twice and ended up at cell towers! The sound came from the top of the tower. Originally the direction was constant, but now it is changing almost every day!
Believe what you want, I KNOW what I heard!

I'm not denying the HUM as kookery.

I am also a HUM sufferer. For me the hum is in the left ear channel and it comes from within the head. it seems to be all around and has no direction. I can hear it inside as well as outside of buildings.

When I leave NM for NY I no longer hear it.

If you believe it's the towers, you should try building a Faraday cage and see if you can block it.

That sounds like a good idea, I have heard of microwave induced sounds, but the sounds I hear come from a specific direction (and I have found some sources and I and 100% certain it is cell towers), if the microwaves were being absorbed by my brain, I wouldn't think that I could figure out the direction based on that. But I think it might very well be a combination of microwaves (increasing my sensitivity) AND sound!

Do they make any human sized faraday cages?? (HALF-joking!)

Interestingly most people suffering from this (myself included) live in remote areas. But then again cell towers are popping up Everywhere now a days.

Submerging yourself in water could act as a faraday cage blocking microwaves.

A 55 gallon metal drum would also be a cheap easy way to temporarily enclose oneself in a faraday cage to see if it attenuates the hum.

If the faraday cage works, perhaps I'd consider building a faraday cage room.
