In this episode of The Lab, Daddy Clay and Daddy Brad dive into this parenting topic and discuss what features and parental controls you should look for in a phone for your kids. What are the best mobile phones for children? Should you go with kids phones, prepaid phones, cheap phones, or a rugged phone? Can you manage texting through your wireless plan? If you've had experiences or thoughts about buying cell phones for your youngsters, drop a comment on this video or visit DadLabs.com and tell us about it. • Cell phones for kids are great! But a cell phone that allows kids to browse the web is not ideal. A more ideal cell phone for kids is the one that helps secures their safety such as a phone with PERS features so both the kids and the parents can be more at peace.

  • @just5com Good point. Parental controls are essential.

  • were can i buy the tracfone phone

  • @Coolsutff12366 You can often find them in convenience stores.

  • I think 10 is crazy

  • @Jedieaston I know it seems crazy, but kids start begging for phones around 9 years of age. They have activities and practices at that age where they are being dropped off by parents. Makes them feel more secure.

  • Sheesh. I'm 13, and I have just a Samsung Slyde. It's been through both mother and father before me. It's been dropped off a roof 4 times and I think it's been through a wash once when it was my mother's. It still works PERFECTLY fine and my parents say if I break this, I have to buy my own cell phone. o..o And yet that guy goes out of his way to get his son a cell phone like, as soon as the kid breaks the phone.

  • Hey dad labs, was I crazy to get my 9 year old a IPhone 4?
