Poor No More is a feature documentary about Canadians who are worrying about how to make ends meet.

Our host, film and television star Mary Walsh (as seen in "This Hour Has 22 Minutes"), takes our characters to see how poverty has been reduced in Ireland and Sweden and how it might be reduced in Canada.

They discover a world where people do not have to beg, where housing is affordable and university education is free.

The message is of critical importance and the timing is perfect. As the economic meltdown threatens, people are looking for solutions. Poor No More is the first film to explain the roots of this economic crisis, its impact on working Canadians, and what can be done about it.

  • @rexdeodium Newp... but an education is a must.

  • @JustWickedSwede Just ignore that troll. He's the type we have to deal with in the US, if you've ever wondered why we don't have nice things...

  • Hah try to get a job in a country where the employer has to pay all that for you... You have to know someone within the company to do that, basically.

  • @JustWickedSwede From what I've read, most of Sweden's social problems come from those with foreign roots. I think that you are very nieve in thinking my views are fringe. I think you live in a fantasy world. Sweden may someday become like the Balkans. This is why Sweden Democrats are gaining power.

  • @ChampsElysees100 Well... Sweden is a much smaller country so no wonder we accept less imigrants. But still I think your attitude is very horrifying. "filthy countries", "low-class immigrants". We accept many immigrants in Sweden, if you see it from a perspective that it's a small country with a small population. Actually about 25% of Sweden has foreign roots. USA is built by immigrants. In the beginning spanish, english and french. So don't hate on immigrants.

  • @JustWickedSwede Sweden doesn't accept nearly as many low-class immigrants from filthy countries as the United States. This is why they are able to create a much better system.

  • @ChampsElysees100 Um... What do you think Sweden is??! Some sort of aryan reich of blonde blue eyed people? You comment is really stupid.

  • Sweden can do it because they don't have millions of black people and Mexicans who leach off their system.

  • @SpeedRaccoon

move to some big cities and you will exactly know WHY , the shitty muslim immigrants from somalia and nothern african countries eat our system . but if you say something about it or that they turned stockholm to the rape capital of europe your a NAZI. kick them out reabuild our nation and then you can bring some immigrants but PLEASE from countires like latvia and estonia belarus etc. cuz the really integrate themselves.

    greetz from germany ;-)

  • Poverty's rapidly on the rise here in Sweden, FYI.
