Hi , with all due respect, it seems that the quickest way to the NHL is through the CHL, you play many more games a season and most management is ex NHL guys who have daily contatct with NHL management
I agree that if you compare Canadian Jr. A to the NAHL, you stand a better chance in the CJHL. However, Reid plays for the US NTDP, which is USHL. His next likely step is US NTDP U-18, from which roughly half the roster is selected in the NHL entry draft every year.
It is HIGHLY unusual for a player to go from a US NTDP team to the Canadian Jr. A's.
I think that the jr a league in Canada prepares top players for the nhl better than the nahl, Reid is proving that he is a top player, he could be playing jr a in Canada and get drafted and be very rich very early in life, his contract with jr a would include a college opportunity, the nahl is pretty good but not at the cha level yet,
OK - I think you mean Canadian Hockey League ("Major" juniors) - OHL, WHL and QMJHL. Canadian Junior A is the equivalent of the top-tier U.S. junior league - the USHL.
I was referring to real top notch players like Fowler, he is a shoo in, I think Reid has it too, but if a player is questionable, sure , go to college, it is the best route, but the Jr A league pays for any college the player wants to go to and if he cant go they will pay for one of his family to go,

Really? Canadian Jr. A's get picked in the NHL entry draft maybe once, twice in the first 2 rounds. Best for him to try to make USA NTDP or go USHL.

Reid should go to Canada and play jr a, it is the best league, Reid could be a millionaire and be in the nhl before he is 20 years old
